Questions from annegirl16:
1. What has been the best place you've ever traveled? Why?
"Place" award goes to Scotland. It's the only country that has ever inspired me to smile for four days straight. The only reason I can think of is the color: it's not that vivid in photos, but when I was there, I remember thinking that, visually, everything just felt uber-concentrated. And I'm still going to move there when I decide to write a book. "Place where I was personally changed" award goes to Jordan. That trip is the reason I am learning Italian instead of working as a night/weekend copy editor for the North County Times. But that has as much to do with the people I met there as it does the place.
2. If you woke up tomorrow hating journalism, what would you want to do with your life?
Travel. Write. Make pretty clothes. Draw. The same stuff I want to do now, all of which compells me to be a journalist. The same stuff that will compel me to be a children's book editor when journalism isn't an option anymore. But I think I might be spiritually gifted as a personal shopper, too.
3. What movie star do you think you most resemble?
Heh. Someone once told me I look like Elizabeth Hurley. I laughed. Secretly, I've always felt attached to Ashley Judd in the looks category... mostly it's that every time she changes her hair, I'm like, "Wait, I already did that, Ashley. Years ago." I feel like she copies me and doesn't know it. But also, I like how she's feminine without being girly. I am not girly, apparently (this will be confirmed by, um, everyone I know). Also, she wears this amazing navy-and-white-polka-dotted blouse for about 20 seconds in "De-Lovely," which I wake up coveting every morning. And I know she doesn't design her costumes, but she pulls it off so perfectly, which is half of the appeal of any fashion. She's like my fashion icon.
4. Where are you now? How long will you be there?
Sitting at the computer. Until I finish this quiz. (Sorry.) I am in the house of my upbringing. I'm here until a) September, when I will be moving to Rome for a year, or b) someone with a Scottish accent proposes marriage, in which case I will return to his homeland to have lots of Scottish babies.
5. What was your favorite class at Loma?
I'm going with The Human Challenge class (LIT490), team-taught by McKinney, Leffel and Lodahl, mostly 'cause it's fresh in my mind... Great literature coupled with psychology and philosophy? Are you kidding me? It's the only class I liked this semester. But Wright's BibTheo class was crucial in my theological development, and the Magazine Editing class, with Kinsman and Brunk, is just amazingly fun.

Dealing in stereotypes, people.
1. Name a CD you have that none of your close friends have (to your knowledge).Any of my Mad at the World cds. I doubt any of my close friends have even heard of the band.
2. If you could say/do one thing to any of your students without consequence, what would it be?
Sterilize them. :oD hahahaha
3. What movie star do you think I most resemble?
heheh Kathy Bates? just kidding. :o) Well... I've always had a fondness for Minnie Driver since she has freckles and dark curly hair. However, aside from that there is no resemblance whatsoever. I don't really resemble any, but if I lost weight, she could play me in a movie. :o)
4. What's your best Salomon Theatre memory?
Ooh... wow... I have a lot of good ones. There was that Saturday when Stephanie ran to Miguels and brought back chips and white sauce, and it was just a bunch of us girls sitting around talking about stuff. Or... every night backstage during The Nerd, more specifically the time I attacked Ryan Briggs for being an ass (that was a good night, lol). Sewing purses, in the beginning, with Ashby for Twelfth Night. SO many good memories!
5. If you had to marry someone based solely on nationality, which would you choose?
BE PREPARED FOR A CRAP/COPOUT RESPONSE!!!
Well... my first thought was Japanese. My best friend, growing up, was Japanese. I like the importance placed on discipline and intelligence. However, from the very little I know about Asian culture, I'm not sure about the view of women. I don't know if that would be a problem or not. Australians are hot. I've heard their pretty positive. But an Australian might be too sporty for me. I might like a man from, well, anywhere in the British Isles, but they are known for drinking a lot. Hmm. French and Italian guys are cool, but they have a reputation for being sleazy. So I suppose it depends on who I fall in love with? Sorry, that is really lame. Based on nationality... I will say Greek. Yeah, Greek. I like that. They have olive trees there. I grew up with olive trees.
